Description for 2023/24

This module forms part of the MSc Prosthetics and Orthotics programme at Keele University which is an innovative programme of study which prepares the graduate for contemporary clinical practice in changing health and industry settings.
This module will enable students to understand the characteristics of effective leadership in a health service delivery context, preparing students to take a future lead on the delivery of high quality patient services.

Aims
This module aims to focus on students to evaluate the role of effective leadership in healthcare and develop students; knowledge and skills to facilitate effective planning, implementation and evaluation of high-quality healthcare services.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Study hours

Description of Module Assessment

1: Presentation weighted 100%
30 minute individual oral presentation
A 20 minute presentation (followed by 10 minutes questioning) focused on critically evaluating a contemporary Prosthetic or Orthotic healthcare service (selected by the student) exploring service strengths and weaknesses and the role of leadership in workforce management.
