Description for 2023/24


Aims
To assist students in understanding the relevance and importance of continuing professional development, reflection and professionalism in their preparation for practice as a Prosthetist or Orthotist. The module will clarify required foundational knowledge relating to basic science which underpins the study of P&O, including anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.
The module will then enable students to reflect, identify individual learning needs/ knowledge gaps and propose a targeted action plan.

1: Multiple Choice Questions - Knowledge weighted 40%
MCQ
in-situ MCQ of maximum 40 questions Using the computer suite ensures clarity of definition of questions with diagrams.

2: Essay weighted 60%
Reflective essay
