Description for 2025/26

The Physiotherapy Practice Musculoskeletal module builds on content introduced in Year 1 and enables the student to assess and manage common peripheral and lumbar spine conditions through clinical reasoning and formulation of a problem list. Students will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills required to utilise manual therapy techniques, electrotherapy, exercise therapy and patient education in the management of musculoskeletal conditions.
The module aims to prepare the student to work in specific musculoskeletal settings whilst also developing transferable skills that can be applied in a variety of healthcare settings and specialities (such as therapeutic handling techniques, clinical reasoning and communication).

Aims
This module aims to build on underpinning theory, knowledge and skills to enable the student to clinically reason and manage patients effectively with common musculoskeletal conditions.
