Intended Learning Outcomes
Critically discuss the key aspects of person-centred counselling theory: Critically evaluate person-centred counselling theory in relation to practice: Critically analyse how person-centred theory can be used to understand yourself: Demonstrate an ability to devise, develop and sustain arguments: Critically evaluate current research about person-centred counselling: Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and how this might be applied in practice: 2
53 hours in-situ, 7 hours (one day) synchronous online contact time, through interactive whole group lectures in Semester 1 and time reflecting on theory and its relationship to practice in small groups; the amount of time in lectures/small groups will vary week to week in Semester 1.2 hour class test.88 hours private study, revising for MCQ and preparing/writing the 3,000 word essay.
