Description of Module Assessment

1: Report weighted 40%
Case Study
You will select one hypothetical case study (from a choice of five), related to an individual who is currently insufficiently active. You will analyse the contributing factors as to why the individual is insufficiently active, and review relevant psychological literature and theory to propose a tailored intervention aimed at increasing the individual's exercise and physical activity levels. Word count: 800 words (excluding references and appendix) In addition to the case study, you must include an appendix that outlines your research, decision-making, and planning process. The appendices will be graded and required for submission and may be referred to during marking for academic integrity purposes. Examples of what may be included as part of an appendices: - Research and reading log (a list of academic sources consulted (not just those cited), with brief notes on their relevance). - Intervention Planning Notes (Notes, bullet points or sketches showing how your intervention idea developed). - Reflections (a few sentences on challenges you faced or key insights gained during the task). - AI Use Declaration (screenshots of AI prompts, notes on how it was used, a clear statement confirming that no AI-generated content was used in the final written submission).

2: Podcast weighted 60%
Pre-recorded Podcast
Students should create a 10-minute individual podcast based on a psychological intervention or technique aimed at enhancing athletic performance. The podcast should be designed for a non-specialist audience (e.g., athletes, coaches, general public) and should focus on: - Explaining the intervention clearly and accessibly. - Demonstrating how it can be used to improve athletic performance either in general or within a specific sport. - The intervention should be grounded in psychological theory and supported by relevant evidence, but communicated in a clear, engaging, and practical way. Students should submit: - A pre-recorded podcast (audio file) - Students must submit a supporting annotated plan or script (maximum one page of A4) along with a required appendix. The appendix should outline the development process, tools used for planning and writing, research conducted, and decision-making process. This appendix will be graded and may be referenced during marking to verify academic integrity.
