Description for 2024/25

The module will provide training for students, who:
- need some guidance in philosophy with activities such as the selection of a topic for research, the identification of the appropriate resources and the construction of a relevant argument;
- need to become more familiar with some aspects of their research topic's background.

Aims
- to guide students in the construction of a substantial piece of research which will form the background for their theses;
- to develop several research-related abilities, which are necessary for a successful completion of studies: independent research, time management, critical approach, resource identification;
- to enable students to produce research of excellent quality.

Contact time: approximately 30 hours (meetings with supervisor)
Researching the topic: 80 hours (finding the appropriate resources and reading them)
Writing the essay: 170 hours (drafting the essay)
Revising, proofreading: 20 hours
