Aims
The aim is to allow students to plan, undertake and report (by writing and oral presentation) a research project.

Intended Learning Outcomes

search, critically evaluate literature, and formulate relevant research aims and objectives: 1,2
plan, design and carry out a research project to achieve specific objectives: 1,2
consider ethical issues and procedures when planning research: 1,2
analyse, evaluate and interpret results in the context of relevant literature: 1,2
make appropriate conclusions, and acknowledge the limitations: 1,2
communicate the findings of the research via writing and oral presentation: 1,2

Study hours

40 hours of face to face contact/supervision, including study skills, ethics, project selection etc.
Independent study: literature review, practical work, analysis of results, report writing, preparation of final dissertation and presentation 1160 hours
