Aims
This module will enable students to:
examine the link between the workplace setting and health of individuals and populations

consider factors relating to health and wellbeing in a workplace environment


Intended Learning Outcomes

Apply knowledge, skills and understanding of the workplace, principles or theories to a work-based setting including any social, environmental or global factors: 1,2
Reflect on the development of personal knowledge and skill and the implications of these for future development.: 1,2
Demonstrate effective communication with a range of stakeholders in a workplace environment and discuss how approaches may be adapted to meet people's individual needs: 1,2

5 hours face to face teaching: 3 hours lectures, 2 hours preparation for work placement

Description of Module Assessment

1: Reflective Analysis weighted 60%
A 1,500-word reflection based on experience of work-based learning
Students will reflect on their development of knowledge, skills and communication skills in a work-based learning environment and record in a portfolio (1,500 words). The portfolio will be an extension of the portfolio developed at Level 4.

2: Exercise weighted 40%
A 1,000-word strategy and action plan relating to health and wellbeing in the workplace
A 1,000-word strategy and action plan which will identify and develop key goals and actions, timelines and outcomes leading to improvement of health and wellbeing in a workplace environment
