Description for 2024/25

This module forms part of the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) programme at Keele which is an innovative programme of study which prepares the graduate for diverse practice settings.
This module offers students the opportunity to consider the occupational and health needs of communities and populations on a global scale and propose equitable occupational therapy services to address these needs nationally or internationally. The module will consider public health, health promotion and prevention strategies for communities and populations and will introduce students to the social constructs and cultures of communities and societies and their complexities.

Aims
This module aims to enable students to identify the health and occupational needs of communities and populations and consider how occupational therapy services can address these needs nationally and internationally.

Study hours

50 hours tutor led active learning will include:
~ 25 hours of lectures,
~ 15 hours of workshops,
~ 5 hours seminars and tutorials
~ 5 hours assessment preparation.
100 hours of independent study will include:
~ 4 hours of tutor guided study and
~ 94 hours of independent assessment preparation.
