This module forms part of the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy at Keele University.This module enables learners to further develop their knowledge and skills following their first placement. Within the module learners will gain practical experiences in occupational therapy assessment, intervention and outcome measurement. Students will also further develop their knowledge and ability when justifying their decision making in contemporary occupational therapy practice.
Aims
This module aims to further develop and consolidate knowledge and skills related to the occupational therapy process. It offer learners opportunities to develop practical assessment and occupation focused intervention skills and to discuss the contribution of the interdisciplinary team within the service user journey.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Identify, select and justify assessments and interventions and outcome measures used in contemporary occupational therapy practice.: 1apply knowledge and understanding of the occupational therapy process to a case study.: 1apply the use of grading and adaptation in occupation focused interventions through a person-centred intervention plan.: 1discuss the contribution of the interdisciplinary team within the service user’s journey.: 1

Description of Module Assessment
1: Essay weighted 100%3,000 word essay based on a case study to include a 500 word individual intervention plan
