Description for 2025/26

This module forms part of the traditional BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy and apprenticeship programmes at Keele University.
This module is a foundational module within the programme in which the learner will develop their knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and psychology and how these apply to activity analysis, occupational performance and participation.

Aims
This module aims to enable learners to develop knowledge of the cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology across the life stages. It will also enable learners to develop knowledge of relevant psychological theories and apply their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and psychology to occupational performance and participation.

Study hours

50 hours of tutor led active learning will include:
~ 25 hours synchronous interactive lectures, ,
~ 12 hours synchronous practical workshops,
~ 3 hours of synchronous assessment preparation.
~ 10 hours of tutor guided study (asynchronous)
~ 100 hours of independent study including assessment preparation

120 minute examination completing a practical activity analysis (using an activity analysis template).
