Aims
to
Consolidate your clinical nursing practice knowledge, skills and professional values, during your nursing placement in your chosen field of nursing practice.
- Learn and practise clinical skills in a simulated environment and apply in practice settings
- Enhance your critical reflective practice skills to aid integration of theory and practice learning

Intended Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate safe, effective, compassionate, evidence-based nursing practice in a clinical setting in the third year of the programme in accordance with the NMC Code (2018) through successful completion of remaining practice proficiencies within the practice assessment document, including appropriate nursing leadership, clinical judgement and decision-making: 1
Demonstrate appropriate, professional interpersonal skills in simulated and clinical practice settings with regard to their field of practice using a diverse range of communication and relationship management skills with people with healthcare needs and when working with and managing teams

Breakdown of scheduled teaching hours-
In situ- 11hrs/Synchronous-11hrs (Lectures, discussion, seminars, tutorials, workshops, assessment preparation and simulation)
Asynchronous- 8hrs (Guided independent study including preparation for scheduled sessions, follow up work)
Placement Learning hours 450hrs
