Description for 2024/25

This module will address issues such as the aesthetic implications of various forms of art, music sub-genres, social issues concerning the production, comprehension and dissemination of technology-enabled forms of artistic expressions. Teaching will mainly comprise class discussion of set readings.

Aims
To explore how intersections of music, sound, image and technology create cultural and social meanings.
To provide contextual understanding, designed to complement practical skills, of how music and sound interact with other media. To address topics in the fields of music industry; screen music and sound design; music video; and music technology in education.
