The "Teams, People, and Performance" module focuses on enhancing practical skills for effective teamwork. It covers key concepts such as team dynamics, communication strategies, conflict resolution, and leadership roles. Students engage in hands-on activities, group projects, and case studies to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. By the end of the module, participants will have gained essential experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and performance optimisation within diverse team environments.
Aims
The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the principles and practices that underpin effective teamwork and team performance. Students will explore the roles and dynamics within teams, recognising how individual contributions and leadership impact collective outcomes. The module seeks to develop students’ abilities to identify and apply key team theories and practices in real-world scenarios. Through engaging activities and assessments, students will gain insights into team development, communication, and performance management, equipping them with the foundational skills needed to effectively collaborate and contribute within diverse organizational settings.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Podcast weighted 100%Podcast/audio recording of experiences of a team exerciseStudents will produce a 10-minute podcast (or a 1500-word written report as alternative) reflecting on their experiences in team-based exercises undertaken during the module. These exercises may include collaborative tasks, leadership activities, and problem-solving challenges.
The assessment requires students to:
Describe their role in team activities, including their contributions, challenges, and what they learned.
Discuss team dynamics, focusing on aspects like communication, leadership, and how the team worked together to achieve goals.
Reflect on personal development, identifying skills gained and areas for future growth in teamwork and collaboration.
The podcast or report should be structured, reflective, and clearly present the student’s learning and insights. Podcasts must be engaging and well-organised, while written reports should meet the word count and include clear, concise language. This assessment supports understanding of teamwork and encourages personal development.
