Our foundational professional development module is designed to help you identify and take advantage of your unique strengths. Using approved psychometric tools, you will learn about your strengths to uncover your inherent talents which will help you to shape your professional identity. This module offers a structured framework for you to reflect on your capabilities and areas for growth, supporting the development of your career plan. Through interactive workshops and guided reflection, you will learn to effectively apply your strengths in various professional scenarios.
Aims
The module helps students to gain a deeper understanding of their personal and professional strengths, areas for development, and potential career pathways through the use of approved psychometric tools and reflective practices. The module guides students in creating a structured career development plan that aligns with their strengths, values, and professional goals, providing a foundation for continuous personal and professional growth alongside an understanding of the graduate recruitment and selection process.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Portfolio weighted 100%Individual professional development portfolioThe portfolio (2,500 words) requires you to provide evidence of and reflection on own skills, knowledge, and experience in relation to your own professional and academic development. There will be a selection of tasks on areas covered in the module, like professional skills, career development, recruitment and selection process, and reflection on own strengths, that are linked to the module's Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs). You are encouraged to develop this throughout the duration of the module but submit as a single document at the end of the module.
