Aims
To familiarise students with essential terminology and concepts used in film and media analysisTo identify and analyse through diverse film and media examples the five key areas of moving image aestheticsTo enable students to practice close visual analysis through verbal and written exercises relating to examples from film and media texts

Description of Module Assessment
1: Essay weighted 60%1000 word essayStudents will answer one question from a list provided. The questions will be based on the key areas explored on the module, with reference to two of the films studied.
2: Poster Presentation weighted 40%PosterStudents prepare a poster on a topic of their choice, from a set of suggested topics provided by the tutor. The poster will combine images and text, up to a maximum of 500 words
