Description of Module Assessment

1: Portfolio weighted 0%
Readiness Task
Students are required to complete a series of pre‑placement readiness tasks (digital template provided). This includes asking students to outline their aims for the work‑based learning period, evaluate their current professional and digital skills, and undertake identified online training.

2: Presentation weighted 40%
Digital Professional Presentation
Students are required to produce a 10–12 minute narrated digital presentation that applies relevant academic theory to critically analyse an aspect of contemporary professional practice. Drawing on workplace observations and scholarly literature, students should evaluate how professional interactions, role expectations and digital systems influence effective practice in modern organisations.

3: Portfolio weighted 60%
Digital Experiential Learning Portfolio
Students are required to compile a digital portfolio (approximately 2,000 words or multimedia equivalent) that documents and reflects upon their experiential learning. The portfolio should include the following components, with the indicative balance shown to guide students: - Attendance and engagement log (approx. 10%): a record of work‑based activity including dates, times and total hours completed. - Reflective entries on professional performance (approx. 40%): critical reflections on workplace experiences, professional behaviours and learning using appropriate reflective models. - Skills development and digital practice analysis (approx. 30%): evaluation of skills developed through the experience, including examples of digital and AI‑enabled tools, systems or platforms used in workplace contexts. - Professional development and career planning summary (approx. 20%): a synthesis of learning that identifies strengths, development needs and future career progression strategies. Students may use platforms such as Microsoft OneNote, Sway or Canva to create their portfolio and are encouraged to integrate written, visual and audio‑based evidence where appropriate. Formative guidance will be provided through portfolio‑building sessions and reflection tutorials.
