Aims
This module aims to build upon students' understanding of the core sport and exercise science disciplines (e.g. biomechanics, physiology and psychology), in order to encourage and develop interdisciplinary approaches to scientific enquiry and analysis.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Critically appraise key theories from contemporary issues in sport, exercise and performance.: 1
Through discussion, demonstrate a critical awareness of global issues impacting upon sport, exercise and performance.: 1
Critically appraise and debate the advantages the advantages and/or disadvantages of adopting an interdisciplinary lens when considering contemporary issues with a sport, exercise and performance context.: 1

Study hours

Active learning includes:
- 20 hours of teaching via lectures and class-based seminars
- 10 hours of directed computer-based activities
- 10 hours of asynchronous directed study
110 hours of independent study by the student:
- 80 hours self-directed study
- 10 hours self-study (e.g. Vblog software such as iMovie);
- 20 hours of assessment preparation
