The Sport and Exercise Project module runs across the full academic year, and offers you the opportunity to put into practice the scholarship and research methods skills developed over the programme. You can select to: (i) design, conduct and present an experimental research project or (ii) design and conduct a systematic review.
Aims
This module will help students develop key practical and theoretical competencies associated with sport and exercise science research or applied practice.
Intended Learning Outcomes

Active learning includes:40 tutor led hours which may include:~ 6 hours meetings with supervisor~ 34 hours lectures, workshops, tutorials etc. and assessment preparation classes.260 hours of independent study by the student (including applying for ethical approval, preparing private study, data collection and submission preparation)
Description of Module Assessment
1: Dissertation Plan weighted 30%Project outlineA 1,500 word introduction and methodology of their project.
2: Viva weighted 70%Professional discussionA 25-minute discussion focused on the student's final-year project and overall learning experience. Students will deliver a 10-minute presentation of their final-year project, supported by a poster that summarises their rationale, methodology, results and findings. Followed by a 15-minute viva voce examination exploring the project, its findings, and their understanding of the research process, including their application of key research skills and competencies throughout the project lifecycle.
