This module provides students with the opportunity to use practical taught skills in a professional environment, in order to develop their employability skills, in preparation for the realities of working in the sport, exercise and/or physical activity industry. Twenty hours of applied experiential learning will take place during the semester, on non teaching days. The university will provide support identifying opportunities (including on campus) however, students are encouraged to self source the opportunity.
Aims
In preparation for the realities of working in the sport, exercise and/or performance industry, the aims of this module are twofold: first, to provide students with the opportunity to develop their professional and employability skills within a industry-based environment, and second, to develop a personal careers action plan, that includes achievable, practical actions to complete whilst studying at university.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Appraise personal knowledge, skill set, and future development as a potential employee in sport, exercise, health and/or performance industry.: 1,2Analyse current applied practice, directly related to encounters experienced during the experiential learning opportunity.: 1,2Identify a personal careers action plan that includes the identification of achievable, practical activities students can undertake whilst studying at university.: 2
