The module builds on content introduced in Year 1 and Year 2 and offers you some choice in research themes/topics. The module reflects the shifting emphasis away from increasing the quantity of care towards enhancing the quality of care, moving away from a medical disease model towards a health model based on personal responsibility and prevention of disease.
Aims
This module aims to develop the students knowledge and skills required to conduct research.

Active learning includes ~33 tutor led hours which may include lectures, workshops, seminars, ~ 6 hours of tutorials and guided assessment prep~111 hours of independent study to achieve the assessment

1: Dissertation Plan weighted 0%Research Project Justification and OutlineA 750-word ‘Research Project Justification and Outline’ that will require a brief rationale, proposed methods of data collection, and initial ethical considerations.
2: Research Proposal weighted 100%Research Proposal (1500 words)A 1500-word assessment that comprises a rationale for the intended research project and a proposal for the intended methods of data collection and data analysis.
