Description for 2025/26

You will study the principles underpinning ecology and conservation and apply these throughout the module in workshops, addressing the needs of current key issues faced by practitioners. You will develop critical thinking, team working and project management skills through application.

Aims
This module aims to develop an advanced level of skill, knowledge and understanding in the practical and theoretical application of ecology and conservation principles through lectures, lab exercises, workshops and visits.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Report weighted 100%
Problem solving in conservation ecology
3,500 word report to tackle a conservation ecology problem, chosen from a list of options, which will involve a mixture of literature review, critical thinking and analysis of secondary data.
