This module is intended to foreground the significance of reflective practice in enabling practitioners to develop informed insights and perspectives on key philosophical, social, cultural and political debates about education/ workplace setting. Participants will engage actively with a variety of theories and practices associated with reflective practice, with more thoughtful reflection being posited as the key to reflective practice. Participants will reflect on an aspect of their practice and develop an action plan for future practice. They will be assessed through reflective assessments that they will develop over time, related to critically analysing an aspect of their practice.
Aims
To develop a critical understanding of reflective practice;To reflect critically on the educational/ workplace context within which participants work and the philosophical, social, cultural and political context within which education is provided;To critically reflect on an aspect of the participant’s practice with a view to action planning for change;To analyse reflective practice as action research.

Intended Learning Outcomes

The module will be delivered asynchronously. Hence hours have been designed as follows:126 hours of Active Learning as engaging with the weekly activities, such as discussions, forums, portfolios, summaries and active listening of micro-lectures.24 hours of independent study
