The module equips students with the knowledge of a variety of IoT technologies applied to different industries. The students will understand advanced communications, data analytics and security issues involved in IoT systems and evaluate their applicability for different types of problems.The module develops the following Keele Graduate attributes:3. Information literacy: the ability to locate, evaluate and synthesise large amounts of frequently conflicting information, ideas and data.4. The ability to creatively solve problems using a range of different approaches and techniques, and to determine which techniques are appropriate for the issue at hand.6. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal forms for different purposes and to a variety of audiences.
Aims
The module aims to equip students with practical and theoretical knowledge of IoT technologies and their applications in a variety of industries.The students will be able to critically evaluate and apply knowledge of IoT technologies to different types of practical applications.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Assignment weighted 85%Written ReportA comprehensive report (3000 words) on a typical IoT application in a specific industry, critically evaluating technologies used for communications, data analytics, security, and market implications.
2: Coursework weighted 15%Individual PresentationA recorded 8-minute individual presentation, played during a group seminar, with 2 minute Q & A session; the content is based on the report.
