Description for 2025/26

This module will enable students to actively engage in the e-society with an understanding of the risks that they will encounter and the measures that may be taken to counteract them, as well as help students to acquire a firm understanding of the technologies that underpin today's information society.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Open Book Assessment weighted 50%
Online Open Book Exam with 28-hour window
The Online Open Book Examination will comprise essay-type practical-based & scenario-based questions on a paper released on KLE at 9:00 am on the morning of the exam. Students will have a 28-hour assessment window to complete and submit their work online via an online assessment portal/field/windows on the KLE (either Turnitin or a Submission Dropbox). Students will be required to answer 2 questions from 3 questions. Students have been given significant time to complete this exam, it is expected that most students spend no more than 2 hrs

2: Class Test weighted 50%
Online Class Test comprising of 25 randomly drawn Multiple Choice Answer Questions from a pool of 50
The Online Class Test will be updated and conducted on KLE. It will comprise 25 randomly drawn Multiple-Choice Answer Questions from a pool of 50 Questions covering the topics already covered in the learning content. The duration of the online test is 1 hour (60 Minutes) to be automatically timed, and to be conducted in Week 7 practical session. This assessment is taken halfway through the module lecture and practical delivery contents.
