Description for 2025/26

How is the world of enterprise and entrepreneurship changing? How do we drive innovation and be entrepreneurial in a digital world? This module
explores the evolving dynamics of business, innovation, and work in a rapidly changing world. We will examine emerging trends, such as digital
transformation, sustainability, and the gig economy, while emphasising the skills needed to navigate future challenges. By fostering critical
thinking and adaptability, you will be better prepared to lead and innovate in tomorrow’s business landscape.

Aims
This module aims to give you awareness of global challenges and the skills needed to develop your professional profile in order to secure jobs and create opportunities throughout your career in the contemporary world. It invites you to engage with enterprise by focusing on live case studies in order to explore ways in which enterprise can enhance and address global challenges positively. Through experiential learning the module aims to foster a range of skills in enterprise, professional development and employability that will be developed further in the subsequent pathway modules at levels 5 and 6. The module is the establishing step of the Enterprise and the Future of Work pathway.

32 hours in-class active learning sessions, including timetabled group work sessions in Semester 2
75 hours group work (~ 3 hrs per week) including structured group learning activities and preparation of group assessment

Description of Module Assessment

1: Group Assessment weighted 60%
Group Project weighted 60%
This group project will involve 3 to 5 students working in groups to identify and develop a business/innovation idea. The final submitted piece will be a presentation of 10 minutes.

2: Reference Exercise weighted 40%
An Individual assessment weighted 40%
Students will identify a future of work issue related to their interests and produce and post an individual fully researched and referenced reflective essay on the topic. Word count - 1500 words without references.
