Description for 2024/25

This module provides students with a supported environment for independent work with peers and external stakeholders. Students will acquire knowledge and skills around the theory of change and design thinking and apply them to a future of work challenge that will involve engaging with international stakeholders and agencies. Students will further develop their entrepreneurial skills and competencies supported by practice and theory.

Aims
This module is the final stage of the Enterprise and the Future of Work Pathway where students bring together their knowledge and skills to engage with a future of work challenge in an international context. Students will work with international stakeholders, and they will learn about theories of change and innovation and apply tools such as design thinking. Students will further develop their knowledge of entrepreneurship and will critically reflect upon their own professional development as change-makers. Through partnership and teamwork, combined with experiential teaching and learning methods, students will gain valuable skills in problem-solving, change management and innovation.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Critically appraise the future of work challenges and related UN Sustainable Development Goals in an international context and work with stakeholders to achieve solutions.: 1
Critically investigate and apply theories of change and innovation to a societal and/or workplace challenge.: 1
Critically reflect on personal enterprising behaviour and professional development supported by appropriate theory and examples of personal action and impact.: 2

Study hours

- 24 hours of compulsory online and offline sessions (e.g. lectures/seminars/workshops)
- 116 hours of independent study including group work, assignment preparation, weekly research tasks
- up to10 hours protected slots in semester 2 timetabled as 1 hour weekly sessions for students to work on their group project assignment
