Description for 2024/25

In this module you will directly engage as 'an agent of change' to respond to the fast approaching timeline of 2030 for meeting the Sustainable Development Goals. You will learn skills of how to monitor and trace governmental responsibility through the international human rights framework to transform their practices according to the social justice principles. The students will engage with social justice actors from the Global South to learn from their challenges and initiatives to understand how the transformation of the Sustainable Development Goals demands an international and inter-dependent endeavour. The students will then apply their learnings to understand how to inform, educate and inspire educational institutions, charities and businesses to transform their social justice practice. In this module you will directly contribute as 'an agent of change' to review and progress the international commitment to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, through transformative learnings of social justice.
This will involve:
i) researching the interdependent and intersectional nature of the Sustainable Development Goals.
ii) Understanding competing priorities, commitments and limitations from the Global North and South
iii) Reviewing the monitoring and accountability of states through the international human rights mechanisms.
iv) Communicating how the educational institutions, charities and businesses need to develop their resources to meet socially justice practices towards their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The students will realise their goals as 'agents of change' through developing an online presentation as a longterm resource for educational institutions, charities and businesses to prioritise and transform their social justice practice.

The students will engage with social justice actors from the Global South to learn from their challenges and initiatives to understand how the transformation of the Sustainable Development Goals demands an international and inter-dependent endeavour.
