Description for 2020/21

This module forms part of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme at Keele, which is an innovative, integrated programme that prepares the graduate for further study or employment in a health and social care settings. The module builds on content introduced in Year 1 and builds on the student's research proposal submitted in Year 2 Semester 2 (Research Skills).
The programme reflects the shifting emphasis away from increasing the quantity of care towards enhancing the quality of care, moving away from a medical disease model towards a health model based on personal responsibility and prevention of disease.
Graduates of the three year BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

This module aims to develop further the student's research skills through the conduct and write-up of a research project.

Study hours

40 tutor led hours which may include meetings with supervisor (up to 6 hours), lectures, workshops, tutorials etc. and assessment preparation classes.
260 hours independent study.
