Description for 2020/21

The Practice Experience 1 module builds on content introduced in Year 1 of the MSci Physiotherapy programme and enables the student, through physiotherapy practice experience, to further develop and apply knowledge and skills in both assessment and therapeutic techniques.
Students will have the opportunity to reflect and compare aspects of communication, skills and mulltidisciplinary team working within the wider healthcare team and setting.
The module aims to prepare the student to work in diverse healthcare settings whilst also developing transferable skills (i.e multidisciplinary team working, communication, basic therapeutic handling) that can be applied in a variety of healthcare settings and specialties.



Aims
1. To enable the student to gain an understanding of how physiotherapy fits into the wider healthcare context.
2. To enable the student to reflect, modify and build on their personal and professional development and communication skills.
3. To enable the student to apply basic physiotherapy specific knowledge and skills to meet individual needs of the patient and to relay information to appropriate health care professionals.

Intended Learning Outcomes
