Description for 2020/21

This module gives students the opportunity to learn about how psychology has been used to make a difference in everyday life. It will give students a flavour of how psychological theory is applied in practice. The lectures will be taken by specialists in the areas and topics may include but not limited to the application of psychology in the fields of health, education, clinical, and forensic settings. The module does not assume any prior knowledge of psychology.

Aims
This module aims to provide students with an awareness of how psychological theory and research are applied to different domains of everyday life, e.g. health, education, sports and exercise, neurological disorders, clinical, and forensic life to improve overall human experience.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Short Paper weighted 100%
Short answer questions
Content studied during the module will be assessed via short answer quizzes made available at three assessment points throughout the module. Each quiz will comprise approximately 10-15 questions, and will be available to students for two weeks. Students will then collate these answers to be submitted as a single assessment at the end of the module. Word count equivalence = approx 1500 words.
