Description for 2020/21

Module Aims
To provide advanced students with training in musicology, critical theory and analysis.
Learning Outcomes
To engender an understanding of a range of musicological, technical and aesthetic issues central to current debates and practices in the discipline.
Assessment
4,000-5,000 word project to be devised in consultation with the module tutors. The project will normally reflect all three components of the module.

6 two-hour sessions focusing on the following areas:
approaches to musicology, critical theory and music analysis.
