Description for 2020/21

This module introduces students to the fundamental concepts and key techniques of accounting. Students will develop a knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of accounting, providing them with key transferable employability skills. The syllabus includes income statements, balance sheets and budgeting. The module is delivered through weekly lectures and tutorials.

The module aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and key techniques of accounting; to develop students' knowledge and understanding of basic principles of accounting; and to provide transferable employability skills.

Take-away exam
Assessment 2 is a take-away exam which will be available on KLE for 24-hours for students to answer and submit their answer via Turnitin File. Although students have been given significant time to complete this exam script, we expect most students to spend no more than 3 hours to complete and submit their answers via Turnitin (with a maximum of 2,000 words). Answers should be as accurate and concise as possible.
