Dr William Kirk has re-stocked the Life Sciences bee hive with a new swarm.

Dr Kirk, Senior Lecturer in Ecology and Entomology, who is our local bee expert and author of the acclaimed book 'Plants for bees', was alerted to the presence of a swarm on Keele campus last week.  He successfully captured the bees and has re-stocked the display bee hive on the first floor of the Huxley Building.  (The hive had been empty since the previous swarm died out in cold weather.)  The queen has not yet been spotted, but the swarm seems to be establishing itself well so far.
