Cyprus Cedar - Cedrus brevifolia

Cyprus Cedar A native of Cyprus, this tree was introduced to the UK in 1879 and it is rare or unusual tree in cultivation.

As the name suggests the needles are quite short which helps distinguish it from Cedar of Lebanon. They are rich green in colour with fine white lines above.

At Keele :We have one young tree planted in memory of Nick Cartlidge. It is close to the weather station by Keele Hall; Square N11; compartment 21b.
