Biography

After qualifying in Diagnostic Radiography I initially worked as a rotational radiographer in London before returning to Staffordshire and specialising in Medical Ultrasound.  Before leaving full time Clinical Practice I progressed to lead the Ultrasound Service at University Hospital of North Midlands.

During my time in Clinical Practice I studied at Keele University to specialise in Early Pregnancy Ultrasound gaining my MPhil qualification. Although I was a Clinical Sonographer, my heart was always in teaching and I mentored ultrasound students and Medical Registrars at several Universities including Birmingham City, Lancaster, Liverpool and Salford. Following my passion for teaching I then took on the full time Role as Programme Leader (MSc Medical Ultrasound) and Post Graduate lead at the University of Derby.

Wishing to combine Education and Clinical practice, I then worked as a Clinical Applications Specialist in the Medical Devices Industry before returning to teaching on the BSc Diagnostic Radiography at Keele University. In addition I still undertake Clinical sessions at local hospitals.
