Anne O'Brien presents findings at Coventry branch of the PMRGCAuk patient support group

Following an invitation, Anne O'Brien (Senior Lecturer at the School of Health and Rehabilitation) recently presented her current PhD study findings relating to Physiotherapy in the management of people with Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR) to the Coventry branch of the PMRGCAuk patient support group.

The patients and their families were informed of the importance of keeping moving and as active as possible as they got older as recommended by current national guidelines.  A national survey questionnaire completed by over 1,000 UK physiotherapists followed by interviews of 17 physios working in different settings around the country, is helping to clarify what is the essence of current UK physiotherapy practice in PMR.This is the first known global study reviewing this topic.
