A space to discuss sustainability ideas and solutions.

Green Keele Climate Cafe

The Climate Cafe is an open space where you are welcome drop in, pour a drink, nibble at a biscuit, and discuss all things sustainability

There will be a theme of the month which will be something that everyone can relate to (e.g. fast fashion, food, travel). The Climate Cafe is a space to open dialogues where no one is an expert and everyone has a voice. There will be refreshments, tea and coffee available. The Climate Cafe is a fantastic way to meet with like-minded people, and brainstorm ideas which could be carried out here, on the Keele campus.

The Climate Cafe started as an idea of how to reach out to students and staff following the pandemic lockdowns. The question was: How could we create a safe space for discussions to take place on the topics of climate, sustainability and education for sustainability? The Climate Cafe concept was the ideal answer. The cafe's main aim is to facilitate quality conversations around the topics to help inspire, motivate and empower attendees.

Sustainability student interns lead on the cafe with the help from student volunteers. Before the cafe, the facilitators research around particular topics to help conversations and creative ideas to form.
