The Many Occupations of Icelandic Environmentalist Andri Snær Magnason

Icelandic Environmentalist Andri Snaer Magnason joins us for a second fascinating lecture on Wednesday 26th September from 6pm-7pm, hosted by the Institute for Sustainable Futures.

The Many Occupations of Icelandic Environmentalist Andri Snær Magnason will outline Andri's journey as a novelist, poet, film producer, actor and reknowned environmental activist. Andri will discuss politics and anti-politics, contemporary literature and historic folklore, poetry, environmental activism, and climate change.

In 2016, Andri ran for President of Iceland and came in third place. Andri's book, Dreamland, 'details the destruction of our planet in following the heavy industrial trail of carnage involved in smelting aluminium - questioning the relationships that are involved, the hiding of truth for gain, for expediency'. Dreamland has also been made into a feature-length documentary, whilst Andri's children's book, The Story of the Blue Planet, has been adapted for the stage.

This event is open to the public and is free of charge. Join us for a drinks reception from 5.30pm in the Great Hall.

Please book your free ticket for catering purposes.
