Matabeleland to Staffordshire

Tribes is a Kwanzaa Collective UK* exhibition which showcases the art of Black and Brown artists living and working in Staffordshire and Matabeleland, Zimbabwe. Using film, photography and digital art, the artists reflecting on themes of Cultural Heritage.

This exhibition is part of Africa 54, a programme of events that explore the history, culture, fashion and art of the 54 countries in Africa. A programme of events, and workshops curated by poet Gabriella Gay will run alongside this exhibition. During October visual artists, Daby Obiechefu and William Attieku Ntiamoah will be in residency at Newcastle Common, responding to the themes of the Tribes: Matabeleland to Staffordshire exhibition.
