Welcoming Students to Keele
These pages are designed for staff who want to find out more about how the University, as a whole, welcomes our students into Keele. Starting University is an uncertain time for many students. It represents a big change in someone's life and what might be a walk in the park for some students, can be a daunting and scary prospect for others. For all new students it will be a period of transition and it is important that the University supports its students during this time in the best way possible.
Welcome Week provides a key focus for this support but Keele University appreciates that the transition that students experience extends beyond their first week with us. We take the view that students should be supported prior to their arrival and ideally, as soon as they receive an unconditional offer of study. We also think that this type of support should continue long after the initial excitement of Welcome Week has died down, and extend many provisions beyond the first week that students arrive. The activities and events that support student before, during and after they start with us are listed below.
