Making an Independent Visit to Keele
Visiting the university during the week or on the weekends
If you are unable to visit on one of the Open Days, Visit Days or Mini Visits, you are welcome to look around the campus on an informal visit.
You are welcome to visit the campus and if your visit is in office hours (between 9.00 - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm), please call into the Recruitment, Outreach and Access Office (based in the IC2 Building). We can answer any general queries you have about the University, and provide you with a pack of information including a self-guided tour leaflet and some information about accommodation and finance. For details of how to get here see Travel Directions or download Keele University colour campus map and guide. If you are coming to Keele by car, we can give you a parking permit that can be used in our pay and display car parks. Please let us know if you need a parking permit.
You are welcome to visit Academic Schools - but we recommend you contact them in advance to see if there is anyone available on the day of your visit. To find out who the point of contact is, please visit the course list.
To book your independent visit, please complete this booking form
If you are interested in studying Medicine and would like to receive a guided tour of the Medical facilities, you are welcome to visit the Keele campus on any Wednesday. If you are unavailable to make it on a Wednesday, you can come on a day that suits you and would be able to pick up a pack of information and get any of your questions answered by a member of staff, but we would not be able to give you a tour.
For more information or any inquiries, please call 01782 734651 or 01782 733642.
On request, we can arrange for a campus map with travel directions, a parking permit and self-guided tour leaflet to be sent in advance of an informal visit. Alternatively, you can download the Campus Guide and Map .
If you are coming on a weekday, please come to the IC2 Building's Reception and inform the receptionist of your name and let them know you are here on an Independent Visit. You can park in the IC2 Visitors car park while you collect your pack but will need to move to one of the pay and display car parks on the main campus.
If you are visiting on a weekend, please come to the Darwin Building's Reception and again let the member of staff know you are here for an Independent Visit and your name. There is no charge for parking on campus on the weekend.
The University is an open campus and you are welcome to view the following buildings so you can see some of the facilities and services available to our students:
* The Students' Union
* Library and Information Services Building
* Sports Centre
* Chancellor's Building which includes many of the lecture theatres and the University Art Gallery
If you would like some refreshments during your visit, you could try Le Café or Vite and Eat in the Chancellor's Building or walk down to the Students' Union.
For those of you arriving by bus, when you come to leave the campus to catch the bus back to Stoke station, you should wait at the stop by the Students' Union.
Please note that during vacation periods the institution will be hosting a range of conferences. It will not usually be possible to arrange visits to meet with academic staff or with current students (unless, for example, a student is studying overseas and has been unable to make an event).
