Keele International: Study Abroad

Student Support

_31R1657250px Keele prides itself on the support it offers to all students- both home and international! The Student Support and Development Area provides services in Counselling and Emotional Wellbeing, Disability and Dyslexia Support, Student Life and Learning and International Student Support.

The International Student Support Team can answer questions, as well as give help and advice- personal or academic. They also organize trips to cities and attractions in the UK as well as put on social events on campus. Past trips have included Paris, Edinburgh, Stonehenge, Birmingham Christmas Market, and Llandudno, Wales as well as a Bonfire Night party and an Easter party! You can find out more information about events going on as well as meet Karen and Tracy here. They also organize airport pickups- the Meet and Greet service from Heathrow and Manchester. You can find out more about that here. If you are interested in being matched up with a Keele student in the Buddy Program, click here- it's a great way to start making friends and feeling at home in England! The Team arranges the Study Abroad Orientations- look at the bottom of the page for some recent examples!

The Counciling Team is available for appointments Monday to Friday. All the counsellors at Keele are qualified and accredited, either by BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). You can find out more information here.

Student Life and Learning can provide study skills and exam help as well as In Addition- the Math Learning Lab. Learning to Learn (L2L) offers a range of workshops, click here for the Spring 2012 schedule.

Keele also offers support to students with disabilities and dyslexia. The Disability and Dyslexia Support Team can help with special assessment arrangements and academic support, as well as with other related issues. You can find out more information here.

As a Keele student, you can take advantage of the range of courses offered as a part of the Distinctive Keele Curriculum, all developed in order for you to reach your full potential. Examples include: 'So You Think You Can Listen', 'Using My Time' (great for the differences in study between the US and UK!) and 'Leadership and Management'. The full calendar can be found here.
