Out and About
Keele is close to Newcastle under Lyme with its thriving night life. Hanley, the centre of the Stoke on Trent conurbation, is a little further on with a range of pubs and bars and the famous Sugar Mill gig venue.
Newcastle has a multi-screen cinema and a range of well-known bar and pub chains, independent bars, traditional pubs and a good choice of restaurants.

Keele has societies for rock, folk, jazz and R&B as well as a philharmonic orchestra, choir and big bands. There’s also a Drama Society which stages outdoor summer performances. The New Vic and Regent Theatres in Newcastle and Hanley offer modern and classical theatre with student discounts.
