How to Apply
New Postgraduate Students
Postgraduate accommodation is available for a period of 51 weeks only. It begins on the Saturday before the start of the academic year. If you are an international student you will be asked to arrive in the week before this for a short orientation period.
Campus accommodation is only available to full time students. All bedrooms are for single occupancy and are not suitable for couples. There is a limited number of houses and flats available to students accompanied by their families. If you are coming to Keele with your family, you can also find suitable accommodation off campus.
If you apply by the end of June (to arrive at Keele in September), you are given priority for an offer of accommodation. To secure a particular room type, you should apply early.
The Postgraduate Office will send you an accommodation application form once you have been made an offer of a place on a course. Accommodation offers are made from May onwards according to the Priority for the Allocation of Campus Accommodation.
We cannot guarantee an offer of accommodation if you apply after the end of July. However, we do try to provide you with a room.
If you are made an offer of a room, you will need to send an advance payment of £450 with your acceptance, to secure the room. £300 of this will be used towards payment of the first installment of accommodation fees. The remaining £150 is a deposit, which is refundable at the end of the occupancy period.
Current Postgraduate Students
If you are a current, returning student at Keele, you need to think about the following options for accommodation for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Are you eligible for University accommodation? – Our Priorities for the Allocation of University Accommodation can be found here. Unless you are in one of the categories listed, you are not eligible to apply for accommodation.
Looking to live off campus? – If you are not eligible or are unsuccessful in applying for campus accommodation, you will need to look for somewhere to live in the local area. You can find lots of information, advice and properties.
