End Of Occupancy Arrangements For All Residents Of Flats On 42/43 Week Occupancy Periods

VACATING YOUR ACCOMMODATION
You will be expected to vacate your accommodation by 9 am on Saturday 13th July 2013. Your keys should be returned to the Student Accommodation Office in the Darwin Building which will be open on on that day between 9am and 4.45pm.  If you leave outside office hours please hand in your keys to the Security Lodge in the Darwin Building.

ALL BELONGINGS MUST BE REMOVED FROM YOUR ROOM
1. All posters and Blu-tac to be removed – you will be charged for quantities of Blu-tac left on the walls and any subsequent damage to the walls.
2. Rubbish should be placed in refuse sacks and taken to the euro bins. There will be a charge levied for excess rubbish left in bedrooms and kitchens.
3. Furniture should be put back to its proper position.  Please close your window and lock the door.  If you have a ground floor room please lock the window and leave the key on the desk.

KITCHENS AND COMMUNAL AREAS
Remove all food from cupboards, fridges and freezers.  Any food left in the kitchens will be thrown away.  Any crockery or electrical items left in the kitchens will be thrown away.  All rubbish should be removed and put in the appropriate bins located at the entrance to the block.   All furniture which is not the property of Keele University MUST BE REMOVED prior to your departure, otherwise you will be charged for its removal.  

NO RESPONSIBILITY CAN BE ACCEPTED FOR PERSONAL POSSESSIONS LEFT WITHIN THE PRECINCTS OF THE UNIVERSITY.

FINAL INSPECTIONS
If you intend to leave before the end of your occupancy period you must have your room and flat inspected before you depart.  You are strongly recommended to be present at the time of the final inspection and you should ensure that all the items on your inventory are present and that the flat is in a clean and tidy condition.  

If you depart earlier than your flat mates, the state of your room and the communal areas will be inspected on the day of your departure.  If your room and the communal areas are in a satisfactory condition no deductions will be made from the deposit.  If your room/and or communal areas are unsatisfactory, deductions will be made from your deposit to cover missing items and/or necessary cleaning.
