Academics who are successful in receiving a Learning Development Unit (LDU) grant may apply for supplemental funding from the Internationalisation Fund, if the funded project has an international component, requiring overseas travel. Applications will consist of a copy of the LDU award letter, a one-page statement describing the activity to be supported by the internationalisation supplement, cover sheet and a brief budget not to exceed £750.
International ConferencesAcademics who have funding to attend an international conference or are giving a paper, in particular in North America, but could spend a few additional days in the country to visit existing partner universities or promote postgraduate studies at Keele in the vicinity of the conference. Applications will consist of a copy of the conference invitation/registration, a one-page statement describing the activity to be supported by the internationalisation supplement, cover sheet and a brief budget not to exceed £500 to cover additional accommodation and subsistence and/or internal flights.
ResearchAcademics who receive support for an international project from an external source may also apply for supplemental internationalisation funding. Such applications will consist of a copy of the letter from the funding body indicating approval of the project, a one-page statement describing the activity to be supported by the internationalisation supplement, cover sheet and a brief budget not exceeding £500
Academics submitting an application to the Research and Enterprise Services (RES) for a research grant may be eligible for an additional grant over and above the award, if their project contains an international component. Those successful in their RES application will be eligible to apply for the internationalisation supplement. The application will consist of a description of the original funded project, a copy of the award letter, a one-page statement describing the international activity to be supported by the supplement (such as additional travel), cover sheet and a brief budget not to exceed £500
Institutional LinkagesAcademic staff are encouraged to assist Keele in strengthening linkages with overseas universities (outside of the European Union), in particular with partners where we already have a student exchange in place. Staff may apply to the Internationalisation Fund for travel grants up to £750 in support of such activities. Applications for such funding should include the cover sheet and a one-page statement to the Head of Keele International indicating:
- the background leading to the request;
- the nature of the opportunity;
- the potential benefits to be gained;
- the activity to be supported;
- evidence of School support;
- evidence which indicates interest on the part of the potential overseas partner; and
- a budget (not to exceed £750).
Application Deadlines
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the end of the budget year in July 2013.
