Osteology: Participants will be exposed to fragmentary and whole bones throughout the course to enhance one’s understanding of the skeletal system
Biological Profile: Methods and approaches to analyze unknown skeletal material will be discussed in detail, including age, sex, and ancestry estimation. Methods for positive identification will also be discussed.
Anthropometrics: Multiple approaches to metric analysis will be explored including craniometrics, body size estimation, and the application of computer programs.
Odontology: The importance of Forensic Odontology to the forensic identification will be discussed, including the identification of dental work and the various avenues available for identification.
Case Studies: Participants will be asked to conduct a skeletal analysis utilizing all that they have learned in the week, and present their findings to the rest of the class.
