Biography
Kate is a chartered psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society. She joined the Foundation Year team in September 2017 and works as a Lecturer in Psychology. Kate has had an interest in psychology since studying it at A level at City of Stoke-on-Trent 6th Form College. She continued studying psychology at the University of Wales, Bangor, then travelled to America where she completed her MA in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.
Prior to Training as a teacher in 2007 Kate worked as a prison drug worker and Arrest Referral Worker with the Police, then as a Connexions PA with additional needs students in several schools. Kate’s teaching experience spans A level, Access to HE and Foundation Year as well as being an experienced principal examiner and team leader for several national exam boards. She has introduced the Forensic Psychology module for her FY psychology students which has proved very popular.
