Summary:
Au Revive Jewellery is a high-end, small scale jewellery manufacturer which specialises in customer-led jewellery commissions. The reason for setting up the business is to create jewellery that the client loves, especially if the piece has a particular significance to the client.
About me:
Having decided to become a jeweller, I have trained with a range of experts from a variety of specialisms from within the jewellery industry, such as hand engravers, stone setters, wax carvers. This has enabled me to develop my work in ways that previously would have not been possible.
About the business:
Au Revive has so far been able to develop entirely from word of mouth, creating various commissions from clients’ old jewellery to completely new customer-led designed pieces. In the last few months, Au Revive has developed key contacts to expand production of a number of jewellery ranges to seek a wider audience.
How Student Enterprise has helped me:
The EFS scheme at Keele has helped the business to develop by providing a solid support system during the early stages of the business set up. This includes invaluable mentoring support, as well as excellent business accommodation, which in turn provided the client with a good impression of the business. The scheme has enabled the development of manufacturing skills through courses and acquisition of specialist tools and most importantly contacts in the trade to assist in acquiring the highest quality materials.
Future plans:
I plan to raise Au Revive’s profile by establishing a presence in the industry via the entry of trade competitions. Au Revive is always developing new techniques for the creation of unique pieces of jewellery for its clientele. This creative development will result in jewellery by Au Revive being available to a wider catchment area through galleries, fairs, magazines and via the internet; to supplement the commission-led side of the business.
